New UNCA course lets students screen cases for Pisgah Legal Services
Posted On
Pisgah Legal has partnered with UNCA to offer a Poverty Class course for the fall semester, taught by adjunct professor and former PLS board president, LeeAnne Mangone. The class not only teaches students about the cause and effect of poverty, but also goes a step further and lets students put what they’ve learned to use in the community. Students have been trained to screen for actual cases at Pisgah Legal Services, providing a valuable service so client applications can be processed quickly.
