Medicaid rules have changed!

Local DSS offices are contacting Medicaid recipients to determine if they are still eligible for coverage.

DSS will terminate coverage for those that do not return the information needed to determine their eligibility.

Take action now!

All Medicaid recipients should:

1. Make sure your local DSS office has your current contact information.

2. Check your mail. DSS may send you a letter about your coverage.

3. Complete and return any forms you receive from DSS.

4. Visit NCMEDHELP.ORG for more information and resources!

If your coverage is terminated:
  • You have the right to appeal the decision with your local DSS. If your Medicaid has been terminated or reduced and you live in one of the 18 Western North Carolina counties, please contact Pisgah Legal Services right away.

You can apply for help on the phone at
