Evictions expected to rise as courts open June 1

Courts are slated to open June 1, with an expected surge in evictions in oncoming weeks. “Landlords have been able to file evictions during the moratorium — they just couldn’t be heard until June 1”, said Robin Merrell, Pisgah Legal managing attorney in a recent Asheville Citizen Times article.
